The New MPS
Phil Poelmans

Welcome to our first Media Production Services eNewsletter!

We will be sending eNewsletters out periodically throughout the year to keep you updated on exciting new developments within our department. If you think this is a big eNewsletter... well... we've had a big year!

Our Print Group has made significant strides in becoming an agile and responsive service center. By implementing a cross-trained production environment, our staff has many opportunities to develop and hone new skills. Our efficiency has increased by eliminating duplication of work and equipment. We have transitioned into an entirely digital operational environment, and streamlined production with more nimble equipment to improve our overall flexibility.

Our Design Group has relocated from Hamilton Health Sciences to Mills Library, Room L118. We hope this move to central campus will prove a more convenient location to better serve our customers better... and our designers now have windows! (although we don't let them out much).

We continue to look at new ways of finding efficiencies and taking advantage of sound business opportunities such as web-based submissions of print orders. We look forward to improving communication with our customers.

Thank you for your continuous support!

Movember at MPS

Movember @ MPS

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives. This year MPS decided to take part and in doing so, made MPS a whole lot more handsome... and hairy.

Welcome to our family

McMaster Divinity College Rebranding

Last year we were privileged to be a part of McMaster Divinity College’s brand revitalization. Including a new responsive web site... complete with a content management system (CMS).

Employee Spotlight
Flash Arseneault

Lafleche “Flash” Arseneault

Flash began working at Fast Print in Brantford in 1986. In 1990 he took a 3 year apprenticeship in offset printing at Mohawk College. He started at McMaster University in 1999 as an offset printer and has stuck around for 14 years of service! He learned to operate digital printers with the introduction of digital colour printing in 2002 and has received formal training in operating the Xerox IGEN, a state of the art digital press.

Lafleche Arseneault was nicknamed “Flash” by his school buddies in his early teens and it stuck (he was also a fast runner then... not so much anymore). He now gets his speed fix mountain biking. He is the proud father of 2 kids: Macy (12) and Joshua (10), and a huge Leafs fan (that builds character!). He collects music from many genres, his current favorite being JD McPherson, a rockabilly influenced contemporary artist.
